"there's Quincy Mumford, a talented guy who can pack big rooms and is moving up the ladder faster than a fireman at a high-rise torching."
- John Pfeiffer, Saint Newsletter
"Don't let his age fool you, on "Edgemere," Mumford's sound is definitively mature: no gimmicks, no bells, no whistles; just earnest pop with a touch of funk — and a whole lot of sea salt."
-
Stephen Bode and Alex Biese, Asbury Park Press
"More impressively, Mumford is able to channel iconoclastic influences like Ben Harper and the Grateful Dead yet avoid overt mimicry."
- Tony Sclafani, MSNBC’s “Top of the Pops!” |

3 years, 300+ shows, and two award-winning albums to his credit, New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford arrives at the release of his third album, [out April 2011], with a distinctive, upbeat musical style that seamlessly combines elements of pop, funk, reggae and surf grooves.
Influenced in musical approach by G. Love and ALO, Quincy and his band, The Reason Why, have earned the reputation of a polished, fun-and-exciting live act that has recently shared the stage with Ryan Montbleau, Donovan Frankenreiter, and Zach Deputy. Fresh off their main stage performance at the 2010 Gathering of the Vibes, the band looks to expand its already-tireless touring schedule throughout the coming year.
Optimistic, charismatic, and undeniably genuine, Quincy’s music possesses the same “feel good” attitude that the young man himself does. When all is said and done, a focused, inspired Quincy Mumford is an artist to watch in 2011. |
